Baily’s Hyperformance Advanced Drag Racing Class
On November 23rd, 2024, Baily’s Hyperformance held its second Drag racing class. This class was for a more advanced or seasoned racer. The class was specifically about tactics to improve burnouts, stagings, tree reaction times, and launch strategies.
If you are serious about drag racing, you know how important it is to cut a good tree and get a good 60-foot. Competition is extremely tough, especially in events like TX2K, where every 100th of a second can be the difference between moving on to eliminations.
Here are a few details shared in the class.
- Importance of Logging and Channels to Log
- How to read the log data and apply it to your launches.
- Understanding Track Prep
- Tire Pressure and how to properly adjust it, looking at prep and logs.
- Working with a spotter.
- How to read the other driver.
- How to use the burnout to your advantage.
- Proper staging and strategic staging.
- Foot-breaking tactics.
- Get your best 60-foot.
Using Chris’ tactics, several racers were able to master the launch and out-drive faster cars.
Reviews from the Class:
Wes Beckwith, @392theSickness – “I learned more from Chris and his team in a few hours of his class than I have in 4 years of racing. In one day, I improved my launch by 1/10th and shaved off another 1/10th on my 60 ft times from some very smart but simple tactics. Most races are won in 60 feet, and I have never heard of the tactics Chris shared. It was money well spent.”
Colleen Fuselier – “Being fairly new to drag racing, 4 years now, and getting to know my car better, Chris laid all the information out easily and with props I might add. I took my brain and car to the lanes and lo and behold it all made sense. Not only times got better but confidence also. “Now let’s go faster!!!”
Bo Gentile, TG Motorsports – “Passion is something very few have for other’s SUCCESS in racing. What separates Chris Bailey from 99% of other elite racers is he spends more time helping his customers improve their racing skills to match the performance of their cars. The racing schools he conducts live at the track with live racing by the students has helped establish more personal bests class after class.”
